Question Flat Bed Peeling Issues on Coro – Looking for Settings/Profile Advice

maybe it's not the coro.... maybe it's the ink?
It's all fresh. When looking into Xante tho all I ever see is nightmare reports from users. If the company ever upgrades - def not going with Xante ever again.

So no one on this thread has any issues when printing from a flat bed to any coro - dunking it in water - and two minutes later being able to easily scratch it off? - Because once it dries its fine again. This seems to be the main issue with the prints we do. Once they get wet from rain, mist, dew, and are currently wet - they peel. Otherwise the ink is strong and bonded.
Nope.

The only time we've had issues w/ coro is when printing to old 10mm coroplast. Otherwise it's fairly bulletproof when we print to corona-treated 4mm. No prep required as long as we pull directly from a fresh skid. If a sheet has been handled or has been contaminated we'll give it a quick prep w/ alcohol + water.

Running 256 inkset on our Oce Arizona.

We only had that issue on our HP 550 when we were laminating coro (don't ask). On heavy solids it would peel off with the laminate.
We just laminated oversized and wrapped the lam around the back. I have never seen an ink peeling issue. We wipe down all our coro with Isopropyl before printing.

The Dyne level could be off from the manufacture of the coroplast.
Coroplast requires a surface treatment (corona treatment) to reach an acceptable dyne level for printing or adhesion, typically 46 dynes or higher.
Try coroplast from another distributor.

I agree the 2155 is tolerable but the 3155 is something else
I tried it one more time the other day. I ended up putting the sheet I wiped out in a storage container. My shop stunk for 4-5 days after. I have some serious ventilation back where I did too. I ended up tossing the open bottle. I still have 3 news one I will happily give to whoever wants them.

IT'S THE MATERIAL FROM GRIMCO!
And I'll say no more about Grimco.
You can buy Dyne markers to check the Dyne Levels on substrates.
If the Dyne level is not high enough, send the material back and buy from another supplier.

What happens to the ink if it is printed on another material such as PVC or acrylic? Does the ink come off when it gets wet? We used adhesion promotors when we had an FB550 on some substrates. We are running a Fluid Color for a few years and have not had any adhesion issues. What does Xante say about this issue?

Don't have acrylic laying around but PVC/Poly's print fine and don't have a peel issue. Even if you print onto Vynl and wet it - it stays strong.

I would try coro from a different source, corona treated. Corona treating has a shelf life as well, so you want fresher material.

The only time we have ever had adhesion issues with coro or PVC, it was with some Chinese no-name imported brand stuff. Could be the kind of coro you are getting. We print thousands of sheets a month and never have to wipe anything down. I think you need a different supplier, remember cheapest isn't always the best. We get our sheets direct from Interplast.

After it is printed, I like to spray in with SEM Color Coat #13003 Clear vinyl coating. It is Marine quality spray that flexes with vinyl/plastics and offers UV protection for your colors. Makes the sign more scratch resistant and durable.

I tried frog juice on some and even then the water sitting on it will make it peel off like nothing. Still have not solved this issue. It's def the material.
