flexi "print spot colors" option

I was sending a job this morning and there are many things in print manager that I never click or question, but I see a box that could be clicked that says "print spot colors" and next to it is a mapping button. Anybody know what this does and should I have been using it for the last 8 years?

It's for people that print with machines using cmyk along with a special ink. Like printing a metallic silver or a special red. It would also be for something like a Summa printer that uses ribbon cartridges. At least that's what I've always been told. None of my machines do it, so never had to worry about it.
