Flexi Write Port Error – Out of Ideas After 12 Hours of Troubleshooting

Hey everyone,

I'm hoping someone here has run into this issue and found a fix, because I'm completely stuck.

I've been battling a persistent write port error in Flexi for hours now. Here's what we've already tried:

  • Three different computers
  • Multiple static IP configurations
  • Connecting computers directly to the printer (bypassing the network)
  • Working with Flexi customer service (no luck)
At this point, I've exhausted every troubleshooting step I can think of, and Flexi support hasn't been able to resolve it either.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated—I'm open to trying just about anything at this point.

Nothing to do with Flexi.
If connection was set properly, Flexi would work.

Happy to help to resolve it for you. Need to know, how the network set up.

not easy to help since you don't identify what EITHER piece of equipment on either end of the wire is
what kind of network?
wired or wireless?
what printer?

couldn't hurt to post the ip's of printer and computer

was it working previously?

IMHO, there can be many potential causes of the problem(s) you are experiencing...

Here are some random thoughts you may want to consider...

Do you have a prior backup of the computer image that worked correctly that you can safely restore and retry?

Can you access the Internet via wired or wireless network connection OK?

Have you temporarily disabled any Virtual Private Network connection and rebooted?

Have you run a full virus check to see if your computer is infected?

Which version of Flexi are you using, and are you having this problem with other types of software programs on your computer?

Which type of OEM computer and which software Operating System (OS) and updated version are you using?

Are you up-to-date on the latest approved OS version for your Laptop from Microsoft or Apple and from the Hardware OEM (for example HP or Intel) for your computer?

Have you tried cleaning out Temporary (Temp) files and rebooted?

If you are using a Windows computer, have you checked for hardware errors using Control Panel - Device Manager - Devices and Printers and looked for hardware/software listings errors?

Have you tried to see what are the recent Hardware or Software errors listed when you open and read Windows Event Viewer - Windows Logs - System Log and the Application log?

You may have to reinstall the OS with an in-place update that does not erase your data files nor installed applications...

I assume that your IP-network is configured correctly, waht means that the adresses are in the same subnet (first 3 groups identical, last group different) and so on.

- Open command line (cmd)
- put in "ping <IP adress of the printer/cutter>

If you get a timeout error, the IP adress can not be seen in the network. Could be a problem of wiring, or wrong IP-configuration. If anything is ok, you will get a message about an answer (response time and so on).

Without having an information which device you use, there can´t be more detailed infos.
