Doing some work for the good ole' Blue Ribbon and apparently they haven't a clue what font was used to create these letters for them some decades-ago. I can try to enhance the picture a bit more if it helps, but the lettering does have serifs.

tracing would only help me for the letters provided, but there's a long-list of new signage for different departments & they want to match new with the original letters we're currently restoring.

nothing exact, but Gin (hold fast foundry) is fairly close

similiar serifs to Gin, but the differences in letters like "G" "S" "M" & "T" stand out like a sore-thumb

Best option I have thusfar, however. i could always modify it & just create a font set just for this client.

its a bit rough, but uploaded a bigger image.
live-trace'd from photographs of the actual letters themselves, who's original layout most likely never came from a computer.

looks like I may just create a new font for this project, with Gin as the basis. Should only take me about twelve blue-ribbons

I hate to say it but I think that would be the best bet. There are a few characters in there that just throw it all off.

updating thread for you font-heroes:

none of the fonts I could find matched close enough to work for this project, so I ended up just redrawing in its entirety. Pabst brewing has 100 new letters coming their-way, along with a 100 year-old set that we reconditioned as well!
