In case anyone wants some non-political drama to consume them for the next month, the "Boyfriend Cop Murder Trial" starts again Tuesday 4/22.
Live via CourtTV on YouTube, but if you want a summary of the defendant's case there's a youtube channel called MicroDots that makes some sensational episodes based on the evidence presented at trial ....painting a pretty gruesome picture of a Police Department covering up the murder of one of their own officers and framing his girlfriend, Karen Read.

Gotta admit, I was mighty disappointed to open this thread and not get a Karen of the month story.
Wife's been watching some sort of true crime series on this, I've only barely paid attention, is it legit appearing to be coverup? She seemed convincing when testifying.

i watched the trial, approx. all 150hours of it, and may have done-so with a slightly biased opinion in her favor from a friend that recommended the watch.
...but yeowwwwza, it definitely appears to be a framing & cover-up.
Jurors from original trial came forward that they were actually unanimous in their decision to not find her guilty of his death but there was some sketchy jury instructions that lead to a hung-jury over other elements that were never really clarified.

closing arguments today.
Alan Jackson has got to be the best lawyer in the country, he has absolutely destroyed the CW's case

no collision, not guilty.
sad thing is, that the actual murderers will go free (pending FBI followup, whom have also been investigating this) and it took over a million dollars to prove a woman innocent of murder that a family/group of influential people in the community tried to pin on her with planted evidence and manipulated testimony.

the first trial was a bit more exhausting, as the defense tried proving 3rd party culprit ....which I believe they did, but so much "he said, she said" drama it muddied the waters with too much info.

this time around, they simply chose to prove that the CW's case was physically impossible and they did so with flying colors.

One of the biggest things for me has always been the taillight ("debris field" - gag me). And the plow guy didn't see a body...my son plows - you KNOW where you are plowing and would have seen a body. And the google search...and the phone being destroyed...so much more...INNOCENT.

Did you follow the Alex Murdaugh case? I have a huge white board and we used it to create a timeline and "solve" the case ourselves :roflmao:

my theory has always been the deceased confronting the guy sweating his gf, getting punched in the face, and the dog attacked causing him to fall down the basement stairs and conk his head on the workout equipment.
cleanup/coverup ensues, and they wanted to plant his body in the snow for the plowguy to take the fall. debris was planted after they realized Karen blowing up his phone was a better patsy.

Interesting theory and it makes sense! We believe since there are three doors and he had never been to that house that he went to the garage door and the dog jumped up on him and knocked him down and he hit his head on the concrete step. The dog started barking, they came in and saw what happened then the cover up...as you stated above is what we think...plow guy...then Karen. We think Karen didn't go in the house because she heard those people were all swingers and she wasn't interested in swinging and she was mad he wanted to go to the party. And then irate when he didn't come home...as most of us women would be LOL

My sister said if she's found innocent the FBI may step in and do an investigation.

She will on her knees and she won’t be talking!
honestly, Officer Kelly Dever would be my pick of the bunch if I was going to have a crush on anyone in this trial.
...i could even overlook the fact that she changed her story to protect the PD, and got a transfer with a $80k pay raise.
