Free QR Code Generator

Hey Guys, I have been requested to start a thread on QR Codes. I wanted to start by giving you some code for a free QR Code Generator you can add to your sites.. Its not mine. I got it from someone for free. It runs off his server. He wouldn't give me the source code. I am working on building my own to be able to offer up the source code for you all soon.

This QR Code Generator attaches no extra information into the code what you insert is what you get. No running through someone else's server to serve up your info.

Use it for yourself or add it to your website to gain a bit of extra traffic.

Insert the following HTML into your page using whatever program you like:

<iframe src ="http://www.mobile-barcodes.com/widget/" width="280px" height="420px" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" scrolling="no" frameborder="0"></iframe><p><a href="http://www.mobile-barcodes.com/qr-code-generator/" style="font-size: 10px; color:#999999; text-decoration: none;">QR-Code Generator by Mobile-Barcodes.com</a></p>

I will be posting more information on QR Codes throughout the day with links to where I got the information as the day goes on and I have the time.

Enjoy!:toasting:

Can you explain a bit about what exactly is a QR code and how to use it. Is that the square looking digital looking thing that Blackberry users use to pass each other the Bm code?

Pat, he's not just offering you another site to go make a code, or to send friends to...

The HTML to embed in your own site, so you can send people to your site to make a QR code was not offered on that other thread, as far as I saw.

As promised here is some more information on QR Codes:

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]QR Code is a matrix bar-code (or two-dimensional code), readable by QR scanners, mobile phones with a camera, and smart-phones. The code consists of black modules arranged in a square pattern on a white background. The information encoded can be text, URL or other data.

Common in Japan, where it was created by Toyota subsidiary Denso-Wave in 1994, the QR code is one of the most popular types of two-dimensional bar-codes. QR is the abbreviation for Quick Response, as the creator intended the code to allow its contents to be decoded at high speed.

QR (or Quick Response) code is not a new technology. Actually it's been around for sixteen years or so, but with the popularity of smart-phones and their support of QR-code-reading apps it making the use of QR Codes more popular in marketing.

Here is a link to the creator of the QR Code's Website
http://www.denso-wave.com/qrcode/aboutqr-e.html

You will find a ton of background information on there.

Also, if your into programming like I am. You can use the google charts API to build your own QR Code Generator. I am still playing with it as Programming is something new for me still.

Here is the link to the google charts API if your interested

I'd be interested in hearing from anybody that has any information regarding the tracking of QR codes. I'm looking for a reliable way or source to provide detailed, accurate tracking.
