Rant General Formulations 226HTR scratched surface issues

I've been using GF 226HTR for about 2 years now and I'm finding the print surface has deep vertical scratches in random locations all over it. Every 54" roll I have received since 2023 has had these scratch defects. Many are right in the middle preventing me from using it for my large wall prints. The scratches all look the same (see the photos). GF doesn't want to anything about these defect because I'm the only one claiming to have issues with them :-(

Anyone else experience these defects??

setup a webcam (or move one of the cameras on your security system for a few days.
get a clip showing the scratches/goouges coming off the roll before it enters the printer

Hello there. I'm currently working with Martin @ GF tech support department. We've both concluded that these scratches are not coming from something I did or from something in my printer. Unfortunately he doesn't want to do anything about it because I'm the only one complaining. He claims I have bad luck and only receive a few bad rolls. To say that is bit silly considering I've been finding these scratches all over my new rolls since 2023. I've made several videos. Who did you buy the roll from? As a distributor, you should take it back them and make it their problem, not yours. If he agrees you have nothing to do with it, then either don't pay for it or demand a replacement.

I never really understood the concept of a high-tack removable. What do you use it for?

All my rolls came from Fellers and Ordway Sign Supply. Both companies took care of me when I reported the multiple issues. I've had 10 rolls replaced all ready and GF still things this is an isolated issue. I'm getting tired of working around these scratches. It really sucks when one of these scratches shows up on a large print and I have to re-print the entire job. I'm getting free rolls but the new rolls are just a bad and require a lot of work to get around the defects. In the end it's a lot wasted time and ink.

HTR had it's benefits. I use it on texture walls or walls with low VOC paint. It's not perfect but it's adhesive is still better than standard removable adhesive which cannot seem to handle textured walls or specially paint. You also can't beat the price. If there's anything better out there that doesn't cost $500+ roll please let me know.
