Gerber Edge 2 not taking up foil as prints

Our Gerber Edge 2 is not taking up the foil while it prints. If you open it, the advance button does take it up, however, as of today if the lid is only opened a small amount it does not take up the foil. I am guessing we need to replace the Take Up Clutch. But if any one has other suggestions of cause, as well as repair tech in Maryland or parts sources, please do let us know.

It does sound like the take up clutch. I did the one on mine, it wasn't too tough. I got it off a parts machine a buddy gave me when it died.

Yes. Although today intermittently it does not always if the lid is down or if the lid is only part way. If the lid is fully up then foil advances 100% when you try

Sounds like a wire is getting pinched when you close the hood that breaks the connection to your foil motor. Try adjusting or loosening your upper chassis cable harness.
