Getting SC500 to contour cut

Please help.

Obviously we are new to the printing/cutting world. We have Roland colorchoice software. How can we get the machine to cut and not print something?

i selected contour cut only and it still prints it.....

The SC-500 predates VersaWorks by a few years. I would start by reading this manual for ColorChoice -> http://www.advancedcolorsolutions.com/documentation/files/Roland_ColorChoice_v4.pdf <-

I haven't touched ColorChoice if a very, very long time.

Color choice won't take a regular object and just cut around it by clicking the cut tab. You will need to have a cut line around your object so that colorchoice knows what to cut. You can use Illustrator to assign a cut contour color and whenever you use that color box it will tell colorchoice to cut. If you have done all that and it prints that cut line instead then you have other issues as transparancies or something else. Sometimes flattening an object then placing the cut line around it will correct the issue.

There are some help files for cutting and how to set up the contour cut colors etc.
