There’s been some debate on whether hot water helps, so I made a quick video to show the results.
That’s one way to respond, I suppose. I was expecting a technical counterpointI'm still not buying that this guy is real...or maybe he's 12.
My Guy, I have removed more wrap in my career as a sign shop owner than I would like to admit. I have a professional steamer, ir heaters, heat guns, torches...you're not going to tell me that a tea kettle of hot water on top of the wrap is going to magically peel wrap off. That’s one way to respond, I suppose. I was expecting a technical counterpoint
came off the vinyl wrap...where did it go? it stayed on the car. Now you have adhesive to remove. We had our own personal car wrapped with avery dennison. when we removed the wrap, the wrap peeled off and the glue stayed on the car. it was a mess.I think Ewan has something going on here. Looked like the adhesive came off with the wrap.
When it concerns large areas like box trucks, we like to get a vinyl core attached and roll it off the surface. Next time we'll get the tea pot cookin' up some hot water.
Get the steamer...they are under $100 and well worth it over heat gun... They sometimes leave more adhesive but the vinyl comes off much faster.Thank you for the input, it is truly appreciated.I've been in this industry since 1986, and always just used heat gun method but never had a removal job this large. Only 4 more vehicles to go LMAO!
