Have gotten no help from roland on this cutter, The perf cut channel has never worked properly. Wondering if any of you have material suggestions or settings for perfcutting with this machine? NO REP or Roland has ever been able to help me figure this out Wasted a lot of money and blades and materials trying to figure this out.

it cuts my MX graphics great as long as I dont go over 40 inch sheets.

Any help with perf cutting would be appreciated.

.... as you noticed, shorter sheets results in better plotting.... seems to be a feature of the process... I regularly plot 200"+images on my Graphtec, but for hairline registration, keep the image as small as possible --- the plotter that uses rollers to index the media has an inherent slop as the rollers do not hold the media securely to a fixed point relative to the plotter (think old school paper printing, the duplicator presses would let the paper float through rollers and guides... when real presses firmly hold the media with a gripper) every time the media rolls in and out while being driven by the roller it slips a little, not fully skidding, just a little slippage caused by uneven drag on the paper at the contact point with the roller --- and the drag changes depending on where and how you are "trying to hold the media stationary by dropping a blade into it" or "cutting"....

How are you driving the cutter?

Versaworks, Illustrator for design work, Blade out at normal depth. Generally always use 60 degree blade for everything. Settings are bas, on more detailed cuts I slow things down. The problem is perf cutting, it is inconsistent on this machine. apparently the cut head has been a known issue from roland for years since this came out. Hence why the changed so much and got rid of the perf cut channel on the GR2.

I have tied 45 blades, 60 blades, lots of different materials. the thing is, unfortunately this cutter hasn't always been the most consistent. I can only get it to be consistent with my thicker materials from Substance. Have NEVER had luck perf cutting. If you have suggestions, I would be all ears.

First off, best blade for perf cutting is the genuine Roland ZEC-U3050 blade.
start with the default perf settings in VW.
there is a video on the Roland DGA website for Perf cutting or check YouTube. I can’t look for it right now. I need to get into a service call. Let me know if you can’t find it.
