Hello,

We use 5 Graphtec FC9000 plotters and they seem to all be having troubles with mark scanning. There are two plotters that have the most problems and are currently inoperable due to these mark scan errors.

Both plotters are on the current firmware (2.01-STD) and we are using Type 2 marks in Black, we have tried a range of scanning and contrast setting

We can turn off the plotters and they will work for a few jobs then start throwing mark scan errors around, and eventually decide to start throwing barcode communication errors when it has too many mark scan errors, this has happened across multiple plotters on multiple different materials (we run SAV permanent/removable and removable holographic). I will continue troubleshooting but I have exhausted multiple support options.

Does anyone have any advice on how to fix this? I have looked for a support partner for a while but the only ones I seem to find are IT Supplies (which has been mostly misses), and Grimco.

Thank You!!

What RIP are you running? And have you run the set up diagnostics one would use when first setting up the cutter? Made sure the eye is clean? And what is the median room temperature?

Call Trigon Imaging in Ohio and speak with Nick or another tech there. They can help you get this figured out. It tends to usually be an issue with Onyx or Windows (update) causing the issue within CutServer. We have 4 FC9000s here and used to have issues, but getting the computer (Windows), Onyx, and the plotters updated fixed everything. No recent problems since that.
