How do you deal with clients that want their files

If I have a designer working for me that is getting paid to design something for a client then they have no right to the artwork even though they might have designed it. They are getting paid to do a job and that's it.

If a client wants a copy of the "logo" or whatever it is then we'll provide a finished version of that log not the working files unless the details were discussed before hand.

Knees and elbows are ok though, surely.
