How would you make these table style signs?

Got a request for quote from one of my biggest customers. They are putting in a series of walking trails in a new development and in addtion to some normal types of signs they want (5) of these displays. I have never done one of these before and wanted to know how you guys would make them. I have a few ideas but figured I would ask people with more experience than me in this type of sign/display.

The best way to do these is with a vendor like Fossil. They have a great product with a great warranty.
But we had a client who couldn't afford them and we did reverse prints on clear lexan with a pvc backer mounted to a stand fabricated from pressure treated.
They lasted a long time.

You are looking for high pressure laminate signs, otherwise typical digital print signs facing up towards the sun will not last very long. As Bill mentioned, Fossil is a good source. We have used Izone Imaging too.

Tell your client what they already know but won’t acknowledge. You get what you pay for. If you buy from a vendor who specialises in this type of stuff you’re client will get a good product and you will make the markup plus installation; everybody wins. If you make it yourself you may make more money or have a tarbaby job that you have to stick with till the end, make less, and not have time for good stuff that may come your way. Order it, install it, if your client is unwilling to pay what it costs, then I guess they really don’t want it.

Printed or just engraved signs? If just engraving (2-color) these, you could use a product called King ColorCore.

We try to stay in our wheelhouse with things that we manufacture. Otherwise, I become a sign broker and markup someone else's specialty, while still providing the signage our clients need. It saves loads of time to continue selling, without being bogged down by the sign making process. We have great relationships with our fabricators, wide format printers (for oversize stuff) and our display vendors.

It seems like there are sign manufacturers that only want to service sign companies, and sign sales people. Being I could never afford the machinery to make every type of sign on the market, I choose to foster relationships with sign fabricators and installers.

Mark it up, and keep selling!
