Never go against the family
We're supposed to get above zero tomorrow! A whole whopping 6 degrees! Real feel still negative, and I'll believe it when I see it, but at least we're heading in the right direction. I feel bad for my dog, he's such a trooper and won't go in the house, even though I wouldn't blame him for it.

As of Sunday afternoon in Southwest Oklahoma the worst of the winter storm is gone. The task of digging out has begun. It's not so easy; most of the precip that fell was sleet and ice. It's hard to say how much accumulation we received since the wind blew a lot of it around. All the white stuff on the ground and caked on vehicles is a hard thick crust. It took a couple of passes of warming up my truck and working on the exterior to remove all the snow and ice (and get the windshield wipers un-stuck).

Lawton probably won't get above the freezing mark until sometime Tuesday. Our low this morning was 6°F. The forecast was calling for below zero temps early Monday morning but now it looks like we might be in the low to mid single digits instead. Road conditions are still pretty bad, especially all of the neighborhood streets. My workplace has made it optional for people to stay home Monday, but they'll have to use vacation time to get paid for it. Local schools will be closed Monday; a bunch of other places will be closed too. I'm planning on going into the office. Staying at home all weekend was bad enough; I'll get cabin fever if I have to do anymore of it.

Didn't get as much snow here (although we are getting a little bit of snow/sleet back at it now), but boy howdy that ice something else. A lot of fence damage, portion of the barn was damaged. Lots and lots of trees damaged, blocking both ways to get in and out. Not going to be fun with this one. It'll probably be Thursday/Friday before able to think about getting out. Machines are going to whine about being fired up when able to start working on it.

The report here 85 and sunny. Spent all day in the pool. Our cold comes on Tuesday when the high doesn't get out of the 60s. We're prepping for it as best we can.

I have been seeing the reports coming in. I can't even imagine just how cold that is.
Meanwhile here for our Australia Day holiday it is 45c today. That's 113 in the old scale. Ridiculously hot

Yeesh! 45° Celsius is pretty damned hot even for the summers here in Oklahoma. We'll get over 100°F on a regular basis; going over 110°F is (thankfully) a rarity. That 45° mark reminds me of that classic tune "Beds Are Burning" from Midnight Oil.

Damn. I just saw the founding drummer of Midnight Oil, Rob Hirst died after a battle with pancreatic cancer a few days ago. He was 70.

I've got a customer in Chicago who really put a Drytac film to the test when he installed 15 window graphics for a regional food chain over the weekend. The adhesive is good to -5 degrees Fahrenheit and the graphics went up with no problem. If I'm allowed to share the pictures, I will.

I took Friday off also! DL you are so right...it was COLD - REALLY COLD. I went out to set my garbage can out for pick up Friday morning and could barely breathe without my mitten covering my face! My house was making weird noises, maybe the siding contracting? My windows were iced on the inside too. I considered making a video but I was too lazy to put my snowsuit on. It got to about -42 with windchill here.

It's 2 degrees, feels like -12...much better than it was!

We're above zero too... Well, sort of. About like what you have.

Car sat in my driveway all weekend, was running a little rough, so I brought it in the shop, started running good again after thawing out. Sad part up here is, as soon as it starts warming up we're going to get more snow.
