Question Ink expiry date

Hello
Simple question...
Can we use inks (like ecosol max) that are 6 months past their expiry date?
Is it risky ?
Thanks

Probably should be fine but I’d toss it.
A Service call and head replacement will be a hell of a lot more… plus the cost of a new cartridge.

Talking $80 for a 220 right?
Doesn’t matter even if it’s a 440 toss it…

I've used far expired solvent inks with success in beater machines here in the shop, but I also don't print for a living so can afford to be more risky.

The Cyan head on my VG3-640 got clogged, when replacing the tech pointed out the TR2-Cyan I had in was a year and a half old...never paid much attention to the dates as we dont keep a lot of stock...this cyan must not have made it to the top of the pile somehow...could also be some lazy assed ink shakers around here...got an older VG2 thats not as picky

hello
I've noticed that Sun Chemical inks have an expiration date, whereas Roland inks do not.
What should we conclude from this?

sun chemical is a serious player in that industry.
they make the inks the treasury uses to print currency (except for the rare exceptions when someone takes the contract away from them)

I know that sun chemical is a serious player but what about roland ? why there's no expiration date on their inks ?
and above all does that mean there's no limitation time to use inks ?

My roland inks have a date on the bottom of the cart. I have used some fairly "old" roland inks before and they were fine. I typically stock around 3 ink carts of each color and I try to use them in the order of oldest to newest. I recieved a new ink from a Roland dealer today that says 2024 on it. I'm sure it will be fine.

Roland prints the production date on the cartridge. Don't ask me why not the expiration date.
TR2 cyan is a special case...
