Yes, there was a pretty significant spike in silver prices back in 2010-2013. You're stuck in selection bias.

But compared to the price of silver yesterday, the price today is higher.
Compared to the price of silver a week ago, the price today is higher.
Compared to the price of silver a month ago, the price today is higher.
Compared to the price of silver six months ago, the price today is higher.
Compared to the price of silver a year ago, the price today is higher.
Compared to the price of silver five years ago, the price today is higher.
Compared to the price of silver ten years ago, the price today is higher.
Compared to the price of silver fifteen years ago, the price today is higher.
