If you are dongle free, they ping you monthly to upgrade and verify. If you want to purchase a dongle, I'm sure they'd be happy to send you one.

When I got 8.1 I was told that I have to register the computer that I am using-so if I want to switch to my laptop, I have to go online before it will work. A dongle eliminates that issue, but I didn't want to shell out the $ for it.

I have heard for 8.6 they have reintroduced EZ-Weed (it was removed in 8.1). We are running 7.5 pro at work and our IT department installed service pack 3 to windows XP and Flexi wouldn't work. Cost us $500.00 to upgrade to make flexi run again.

I'm still running 7.6 on XP SP3, and no problems. I've read the improvements, but I'd rather stick to something that's been working for 3 years.

I did get 8.0 upgrade freefrom SW, but never bothered to install it. It's still sitting on the shelf.

If you are printing and using Flexi for your Rip then the upgrade it is worth it. You can get it with the USB key option It just costs a little more.

i know my 8.1 came with a usb device ( iam sure that is the donggle you are referring to)
i had to enter the password once and it is lifetime i guess. i draw all the stuff between it and Photoshop CS2. i send it to by buddies shop to print...so i don't print direct from my station, just cut and create. They seam to always boast there is somthing you can't live with out inthe new stuff. How's it do with Vista. i haven't heard tomuch chatter about it
