Eggs are still expensive because of bird flu. The cost of eggs is based in part on how many laying chickens the farmers have. If they've lost half their flock, there are fewer eggs to bring to market so the price goes up. It doesn't matter who is president although politicians tend to throw the blame around.

Wondering how come the price of chicken hasn't sky rocketed just eggs. Guess only laying chickens get the avian flu...

That's exactly it. It's spreading in farms with laying hens, not the farms raising the chickens for meat. Same with dairy cows vs non-dairy cows.
The reason chicken and egg prices have not moved in tandem has to do with the very different toll that avian flu has taken on birds that produce eggs — and those raised for their meat.
