KALA Mistral 1650 - E19

Hey Everyone,

Just got a new Kala 1650 laminator and after installing the heating element and calibrating im getting an E19 error after the machine runs for about 3 seconds. None of the emergency stops are pressed, the laser eye isnt being obstructed and the foot pedal isnt compressed. Just wondering what could be causing this on a brand new machine. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

have you done the calibration? With the main power on, but the consol power off, press the "M" and the pedal buttons at the same time. This will engage an auto calibration. The top roller will raise all the way up. Give that a try, this just happened to me literally 10 minutes ago. I Did that and I was good to go.

E19 is: Driving motor failure, motor connection failure, motor overload.

Are you running with a bunch of tension on the supply shafts? Will the machine run with no material in it? If it is hard to move the supply shaft, then you could be forcing the motor to stop and pop and error code. If it does it with no material on, then you likely have a bad motor. You can call Max for technical support at Kala 817-966-5763. If it is new then you'll be covered under warranty. It is really quite easy to change out the motor.

Thanks for the replies! My production guy said he tried running material through and it fed very fast and the speed adjustment didn't change the speed. It pops the E19 error running with no material and no tension on the supply shaft as well as after a roller calibration. This is our second Mistral 1650 and the other one has been operating well for a couple years now so im going to assume its just a bad motor on the new one. I'll reach out to support, thanks again for the quick replies!
