Whenever I think machining or manufacturing I think of rivets, steam, piping, etc ... Maybe incorporate some of that? Did they give you any direction at all?

i replaced the font "o" with a circle because i was going to make the inside of it a gear, but then i liked it without it.

but it is very bland and boring as is.

i might ditch the background and go for the gear...

they are engineer's, they have given no direction...

What about using a lathe chuck or some other machine shop icon?

that's and interesting idea but i want to stay away from anything digital, and i don't want to create a vector chuck.

Here's one more quickie using a laser, not sure if they use them in their work or not.
