Looking for ideas for mounting and framing a 4x16 alumaboard store front sign

Hey guys! It's the slow season and the owners are upgrading our old warn out awning for a mounted 4x16 foot rectangular sign with new overhead lights. We're brain storming how to mount it to the building because we don't want to go with the standard 2x4's and drilling through multiple spots of the sign face.

The main thing that has us boggled is the conduit box and cables for the over head lights will either need to be visible and flush with the sign (preferably not) or hidden behind the sign, which means we will need the 2x4 route anyways to create the channel needed for the wires.

Does anyone have ideas on how to dress up a store front sign a little more?

There are plenty of options for frames and cabinets out there. But if you're wanting to just have the panel, then you'll likely have to drill some holes. I've used something like the frame below a few times, but I'm not sure if they supply it up to 16 ft? Everything is all kits, components and parts, so there is no quick pricing, it's all custom.

For our last shop sign which was 45"x16' we used alumalite and folded 1 1/2" returns. We then put our fasteners just through the bottom and top returns (into 2x4s of course!) leaving the sign face unblemished.

We would make a separate raised molding from .040 alum and often add a piece of 1/4 round molding inside the raised molding.
