Mahogany School Crest

Here's the crest that I asked pricing advise on awhile back.

20" in diameter, 1" thick. Made in two pieces. The Trojan is 1/2" thick.

The lettering on this was a little tricky for 2 reasons.....first, it went slightly up on the sides of the panel. Second, the wood was supposed to be Honduran Mahogany but it was more like Philipine with sudden grain changes in streaks. I pre-finish, mask and carve......can't see the grain thru the mask so I basically had to feel the grain changes by hand. I sometimes actually had to change directions within the same cut. I suppose thats where more than 50 years of carving pays off..

Um, since I got this picture thing figured out I might throw up one or to more projects and a couple of SxS's.
