Main Board Swap for ValueJet 1638X

My company has several VJ-1638X printers and one printer suddenly stopped printing with printer head 2. It seems like there is an electrical short somewhere in our printer that blows out the head fuse on the main board. I have replaced everything between the printhead and the mainboard and it still seems to be blowing the fuse. I can only assume that the main board is damaged and needs to be swap. Does anyone have experience with swapping main boards out. Do I still need access to MSA Technician mode or can I update the firmware in the MSM?

Thank you in Advance!

Have you tried unplugging the head cables to that printhead and turning the power on? It's possible that the head itself id blowing the fuse. Without the cables plugged in, you should get a head cable error.

Luckily, you can still use the old MSA on that model and won't need a tech login. But you will need it to install the board.

I have tried the booting up the printer without plugging in the head. The fuse does not blow on start up, but I changed the printhead and it is still blowing the fuse.

Do you know where I could find an old copy of MSA? What version started requiring a login?
