Material roll fastenings

Greetings!

Just wondered what you are using to hold rolls of material closed between uses. We've tried painters tape (doesn't hold), masking tape (can leave a residue), rubber bands (leaves pressure marks) and these thingies from one of our suppliers. It looks like it should be ok, but we found on digital media if it's tight enough to not slip down the roll, it leaves pressure marks in the vinyl that can be seen in the print.

So, what do you use? There must be something better on the market?

Double sided velcro.... still can leave a slight mark if you make it super tight though.

we use normal tape right on the edge of the media on each end...basically where the media clamps would be so you never get any marks or residue.....been doing this for years without any problems.

You can always put it back in the plastic sleeve it came in and stand it up on the plastic feet that also came with it. Thats what I do. Also protects the media from dust and humidity.

A piece of scrap paper/vinyl wrapped snugly around the media with a piece of scotch tape to hold it closed. So cheap it's free.

Head bathroom cleaner.
Bag O Rubber Bands $2.50. Put them on the end of my rolls where the rollers run anyway. How much are those things? If they aren't free then I would have a small fortune in them. We keep around 100 rolls of material in stock.

I use these from Creative Banner Assemblies. They would be easy enough to make, but they were about $1 each so why bother. I carry a lot of different rolls so it's nice to have a label on there all the time.
