Not sure how else to explain it other than the media is sliding to the right about 2 inches per foot while I hold the down arrow on the control panel on a Roland VP540.

Could be a couple things. If you run a lot of magnetic you may have worn down the grip of the drive rolls.
Also the middle pinch rollers don't do much. It is the outer pinch wheels with a specific taper to keep vinyl flat. Those are a consumable. Just had mine replaced since we were running out about 0.150" to 0.180" in 8'.

The other thing is do not assume that just because you use the sheet cut that it is square to the roll. It will not leave the edge 90 degrees after you run a job. Short runs you can get away with lining up the edge to the platen, but at some point you must re-square the roll.

My wife ran a number of small jobs one right after another then couldn't figure out why the contour cut ruined the decals. I pulled the roll and used a t-square and found the roll was 0.500" off. She said: Well I've been using the sheet cut every time so it should be perfect". Nope.

There you go, now we're getting somewhere. When you ask for help on here it is a good idea to list the machine you are looking for help on, things you have tried to resolve the issue and stuff like that just so you don't have to spend the first 10 posts going over that stuff.

Thanks RJ, I just talked with a tech and he said that the right and left rollers needs to be changed. I can't just change the right roller with one of the "backups" I had laying around (which is what I did).

I assumed all machines are pretty much the same when it comes to this type of issue, my bad.

Forgot to mention that the rubber can come loose from the hub in rare instances. I saved my old rollers in case that happens. They will be fine for small jobs in an emergency.
