Moving to a office / warehouse with Mimaki UJF3042 ?

Hello everyone

We are moving to a small new place around 1,500 sq ft with "500 sq ft office" and 1000 "sq ft warehouse" space. It's our first time moving with the Mimaki UJF3042 machine, so we are not really sure what to look out for. Our goal is to basically have the machine operable on the same day that we movie into the new place so we don't have any down time. We talked to the supplier and they said they will need to lock down the machine when we move it to the new place. I am kind of anxious, because we had our machine break down right after we moved into the current place last year.

Also, we really want to setup the machine in warehouse where we have access to the roll up door and higher ceiling for better air circulation. However, the only problem is the temperature and dust in the warehouse area. There is no thermostat in the warehouse, so I am not sure what's going to happen if the temperature rises to 95 desgree when we are out of town. We are in southern California.

Another thing is that I am not sure whether to keep the machine in the office area with central ac OR warehouse with more space but lacks temp control? We might also get another machine by the end of year.

Any thought would be greatly appreciate it.

Not sure, but couldn't you practically carry this machine under your arm ?? Weight-wise, just put it in a well padded cart and park the heads and you should be good to go. If you don't want it in the office, build a small room for it in the warehouse section and ventilate it to the outside. Make the room big enough to accommodate your next machine, so you don't hafta reconfigure anything. Think ahead.

Don't move it without looking down the gantry and print head, do you have the yellow shipping brackets? Call me I can walk you thru the lock down procedure.

I contacted the supplier and they will come to lock the machine before we move it. Yes, we do have the yellow shipping bracket that came with the machine, but do we have to use it ? My plan is to have the supplier come to lock it and have 3-4 guys lift the machine up and move it to the new place. I am not planning to use the yellow shipping bracket, because I am not sure if two person is enough to lift up and balance the machine with each person holding one end of the shipping bracket. I think you need like 3 or more to move the machine. If we tilt the machine a little while moving around corners, would that be an issue for the machine ?

My other question is whether you can operate the machine in a high ceiling warehouse without temperature control ? Our existing one right now is in an office space with central ac, so it was not an issue. However, we really want to have it set inside the warehouse area since it's mores spacious and we might have another machine in the future. I don't think building a shed inside the warehouse is an option,

Any thoughts will be greatly appreciate it.

Trust me. You WANT to use the yellow brackets. We moved our 3042 into the next room and well.. trust me haha. Temp Control is definitely the way to go. YOu don't want all that dust from the warehouse getting into your machine.

Phil, if your paying Mimaki Techs to move it they will use the yellow poles for lifting. 2 guys can move a 3042, 6042 needs 2 crazy strong guys or 4 regular guys. if your going up stairs you will need at least 4 guys on 3042. What you are printing on will determine how critical the printing environment will need to be. the 3042 is fairly easy to move so if you try it up stairs and have issues then you can always move it to a more controlled environment.
