Mutoh 1682sr-p issues

Hello all
We just got the Mutoh 1682 sr-p and having 2 issues right off the bat.
When printing on vinyl and photo paper ink isn't curing, or maybe laying down to much ink. If you touch printed area to printed area it pulls up ink. We are running 2x ymck ink cartridges for faster printing, which I'm thinking was a mistake maybe. Using Verti RIP and the presets that were downloaded which are 3 avery, ij180. First preset I tried did have lower preheat and platen heat settings but tried others and didn't seem much better. Any tweaks to presets that could help here? I know an ICC profile would be better but I would think one of the presets would work.
2nd issue was when trying to print a banner I get horrible banding. I talked to guy that sold us printer and he said I needed to set up "user type" on printer and adjust media thickness and do a pf adjustment. Was able to find media thickness. He told me to set at 330um for 13oz banner. That didn't help. As for PF adjustment can't find where it is or how to do it. He told me you have it print 500mm then measure and adjust. From what I'm reading this machine has a different auto adjustment called feed master but can't find/ figure out how to do that.
Sorry for wall of text. Any help would be appreciated.

Solventinkjet

DIY Printer Fixing Guide
Is this your first solvent based printer perhaps? Your first issue sounds like you're printing on a coated photo paper which won't work with solvent. So if you're printing on paper that you used to print on with water based inks, it won't work. It could be laying too much ink down as you suspect if there is no color profile and you're just working off of presets with no color correction. I'm not sure how Vertilith handles it but, a lot of the time the ink limits and linearization are attached to the color profile but not presets. Find an ICC profile and try it out. That should get you pointed in the right direction.

The PF adjustment is in the User Type menu. Hit the Home button, then Setup, and then User Type. In the User Type menu, you should be able to find PF Adjust. That menu will have the auto and manual adjustment.

Hi, thanks for response. As far as curing issue, both materials avery 2903 vinyl and briteline photo paper claim to be solvent compatible. Is coated paper really a no go? The rep mentioned "print interval" in the RIP options. (pause between passes) which was something I thought could help giving it more drying time. Will try that Monday and if that doesn't help look into ICC profiles.

Not sure how I couldn't find that PF adjustment yesterday but thanks, I found it. Tried the auto adjust, no help. Tried the manual adjustment, it was 494mm instead of 500mm so I thought that was it, but even that did nothing for the banding. Did nozzle check just to be sure not printhead issue. No issue there. This is Duratex banner which is pretty far from smooth. Looks fine on latex HP but are solvent printers just more finicky with banner?

Go to verlith profile editor and linearize it visually (not need i1 etc for this) you have to choose the best patches that doesnt bleed. If the problem still there, try with small dots. Pf, micropf, bidir adjustments etc should be all made manually not auto. At least on my 1641sr, automatic calibrations really suck. And well, i dont know how you calibrate/align both heads, but i suppose it will be in the service manual
