Recently our 1624 is just very loud when it's printing. I've done the maintenance - cleaned and greased the carriage the head slides on - still loud. Is there anyone who troubleshoots this stuff? I'd hate to just start buying and replacing parts without knowing if they'll solve the issue. I reached out to someone at Mutoh and they say since my printer is more than 5 years old, it's out of warranty and so they didn't help me.

So am I not supposed to be greasing/oiling them??
I was told that i needed to do that...so I did and the sound got MUCH better...but now it's back with a vengeance. Sounds like and awful grinding noise!

You need to grease the channel the head slides back and fourth on.
