Hello I'm new here I hope this is the right place to ask for help. I just got a Roland SP300 (not a V or I) and am having trouble connecting it to Versaworks 5. When I plug my printer in Versaworks doesn't detect it. I'd like to mention I am using windows 7 as well. Is this the incorrect software for this printer? I know its extremely old and very particular with what it accepts. If I can provide any other information for you please let me know what you need! Thanks!

A SP300 (withoiut V) will not work with VersaWorks, a SP300V is needed, or some 3rd-Party-Software. The Software checks the printer model and won´t work with older models. The software the SP300 was delivered is a Wasatch Softrip OEM called "Colorip".

: der are possibilities to modify a SP300 to recognize itself as a SP300V. I do not remember exactly, but perhaps you will find a description how to do it on the web. But it is a license violation.
Be sure that you have a valid USB-Driver. As far as I remember, from some newer OS-Version the USB-Driver won´t work anymore. It is a really old machine (more than 20 years).

Oh okay so I have a colorrip CD version 2.1 that came with it. It can run on Windows7 32 bit. Might have issues on 64bit systems.
