Need help fast!!!

Just got back from a week off and I had wiper issues before I left. I at least got someone to hit the enter key once a day so the machine would shut itself back down and on Monday called a service tech to come in and get the problem cleaned up and run a nozzle wash and shut the machine completely down until I returned. I am sitting here now and I started the machine up and it had trouble again with the wiper not returning to it's home. I just happened to look down in the general vicinity of the waste bottle and I see it sitting in a puddle of ink!!! I go to the back of the printer and it seems to have completely drained 2 half full bottles of yellow Jetbest ink. So I shut it back down and I am cleaning up this mess, but I am not sure what to do... If the guy came in on Monday to shut the unit down in a nozzle wash...Did he not see all this mess? If the machine was shut down, how could the yellow ink syphon through like that? I guess I need to know if I should refill them or is it to late and the lines are toast. It is Sunday and can't get hold of anyone so I can't really move forward....

Swollen Yellow Captop

Sorry to hear of your mess!

Most likely the yellow captop on your machine (JV3?) became swollen enough to contact the printhead which would allow the yellow ink to be wicked through the system.... from cartridge bay to the waste bottle.

This happened because of the nozzle wash. Most of the time you can let the heads sit in a nozzle wash indefinitely but sometimes there is an issue that will create a siphon. Usually it is because the waste tubes become submerged in the waste ink and/or your pump is not closing properly before you add the solution for the nozzle wash. If the solution is able to move slowly through the pump, it starts a siphon and wont stop until your ink is gone.

This is exactly what must have happened. had my tech here today and he syphoned new ink through the system and everything is back up and running. Was a little worried there as if the machine needs any major fixing these days Imay as well go out and get a new one.
