Nesting - Rigid materials

We always used Illustrator, and sometimes Flexi. You could probably use any vector based software. I believe Graffix has made a nesting plug in for illustrator but I’m not sure.

If you are nesting rectangles and you don't think your RIP is getting you the best yield then I recommend www.optimalon.com. I have an old version of caldera and optimalon does a better job than caldera when I have hundreds of different size images to nest on various size (48x96 and 60x96) rigid sheets.

The app is online and free for most entry level stuff. Easy to use.

The best nest I've found,.which is coincidently free... Is deepnest. It only works with svg and DXF files sadly, but it works really good and I use it to nest all my laser/CNC items.

Illustrator has a nesting plugin as well from o2 creative... Used to use it, but I like deepnest better.

Enroute has a best as well, but I find it the least useful - vcarve is great at nesting.... But still prefer deepnest.

E-cut for corel and illustrator. What software are you using already?
I use e-cut also.

But I have a lot of leftovers/remaining materials that i want to re-use it for future projects.
And i can not find a software that keeps inventory on my leftovers sheets and automatically do the nesting on the sheets from inventory (rectangles or irregular shape (svg, dxf,...)).

Do you know a software that does that?

My mistake, i mean a nesting software for boards that are cut for channel letters, where we have 95% irregular shapes, like letters, logos...

We use Phoenix. It's pricey but pretty powerful.

Along these lines, someone might find this calculator useful: https://www.firesprint.com/sheet-yield-calculator.html

Very pricy!
I would start with Griffin for nesting before looking at Phoenix.

Hot tip,
You can buy Onyx TruFit as a once time purchase. It's basically Griffin but watered down. If all you need is PDF files, it'll do the job.
