New Graphtec FC2250-60, Registration problems...

Just got a 2nd one of these plotters. After assembly I setup the unit's conditions for the blade we are using, and attempted a test run. Everything we cut on it is 12x18 cardstock. When I start a cut pattern using Cutting Master 2, the head seems to sense the first registration mark fine, however when it attempts to find the 2nd mark it moves only a couple of inches attempts to scan and then gives a mark scan error. We have been using the same patterns for along time without problem on our original unit, so I am having a hard time understanding why it is not moving all the way to the 2nd mark. I was informed by Graphtec support that all the settings should come from Cutting Master, and thus I should not need to define anything on the unit itself. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Thanks in advance for taking the time to check this out. -J

Hi, I have the very same problem here. - we bought an FC2250-120 second hand, - it came from working enviroment for sure. -
What we did, and maybe we should not have, idk, - I updated the firmware from 3.40 to 4.60. - but it should not really cause such a problem. -
On the plotter itself, there are settings for the marks, and we mached the mark size with the one from data there. So far so good.
When we start the job, the first mark is being scanned, then the plotter moves like 5 or 6cm, - and tries to find another mark, even though the drawing is clearly much bigger. After some seconds, "MARK SCAN ERROR" shows up. -

Anyone out there, that could help us on this? I know this is an ancient machine, but it is still by far not obsolete, as far as the use case are concerned - and we want to keep it as long as possible.

Check out GP-GL Step size setting in your software and in the cutter. make sure they are the same. Prefer to use 1016 Steps/inch = 40steps/mm = 0.025mm/Step.
