New member and new to the Gerber Edge

Hello All,

My name is Roger. This is the first time I have ever joined a forum. The reason I am here is I managed to get a Gerber Edge recently. So recent it has not even been delivered yet. As this is an old machine I am struggling to find information on things such as printing material and foils. I have designed and had motocross graphics printed in the past. I would like to try my hands at printing myself. This is not for profit or a business at least not for now. This is mostly a hobby. I would also like to try my hands at printing transfers for t shirts.

The questions I have are,

When searching for vinyl stickers is there a specific size? I know there are feed holds on the edge of the vinyl. How do I know what distance apart for the feed holes?

Also for t shirt transfers, how is that achieved. Do I print on a specific type of vinyl?

Of course I will do some research on my own but I am very keen to speak to people who may know.

Hyatt has a lot of Gerber products. Look them up as they very friendly and very attentive with their clients.

Pretty much all 15" vinyl will have pinfeed holes that match the Edge and various Gerber plotters. Does the purchase you are waiting to receive include a plotter and software?

I do have software un-fortunately no plotter. There is someone selling some rolls of white vinyl for a good prices which will be ideal to start with. It is 380mm which is just short of 15". Will this vinyl still work on this printer. I this maybe a silly question but do not want to find out later it does not fit only by a fraction of an inch.

What brand and version number is your software?

I can't advise you on the vinyl other than to recommend against it without knowing that it is suitable for use. While you're in a learning phase, it seems a good idea to buy only what is known to be rated for use in a Gerber Edge.
