Noob Question...how do I do this?

I come from a background of digital printing, paper printing, business cards ect. I've always used indesign but haven't made a double shadow like this.

I need help making this in corel or illustrator. I can make a regular outlined number, I can make it look like this. I want to know the proper way to make this because I am making a number in similar font for a race car number. I know you guys can whip this out in 15 seconds, I just haven't properly typed and shadowed something like this.

Thank You.

Make your number. (red) Convert to curves or weld.
Outline it, (white) break apart the outline.
Outline it again (contour) (black) slightly larger; break apart.
Copy that outline. Paste it, move it to the right and lower it with your arrow keys or just eyeball.
Weld that to the final outline, send it to the back.

yep, exactly,

or in Illustrator language.

88 -> right mouse click, convert to outlines or object -> expand

then object->path->offset path.
you'll have to ungroup after doing that, each time.
