Oce Arizona Lamp Error

Anyone familiar with lamp errors on the Arizonas? We will send a job and it will complete it but then generate a (left) lamp error and turn off. We replaced the lamps with no change. Fans appear to be working fine. Is there a local sensor that could be bad?

Is it an older Arizona before the LED lamps? Sounds like the shutter doors not closing properly. Over time the heat warps the metal slightly resulting in the shutters sticking open or closed., try switching the whole lamp units, left and right around and see if the error moves to right hand lamp.

What is this Arizona? 250, 350, 360, 550, 660, 6170, 12xx, 22xx, 13xx, 23xx??? GT or XT? Your question is not correct.
If this is 250, 350 it is a little different. On 360, 550, 660 ... read this. If this is 6170, 12,22, 13, 23 it is different situation.
1. Change the position of the lamps. I mean all, not just bulb. It is easy. Just unplug the blue connectors, pull the black plate up and towards you.
What is going on? Where is the error now? Left or Right?
What is the condition of the bulb connectors. What is the condition of the blue big connectors. Check pin by pin for burned pins or for too big female pins.
What is going on if you try to move by hand the motor of the shuters? What is the condition of the photo couple? What you fill when move the motor by hand?
2. If this is XT the position of the power supply is to the right side of the printer.
If this is GT behind and on the right under the cover. This is ballast's of the mercury lamps if this is old model.
Check the temperature of this ballasts. Try to hear about noise from fans. If you can not hear noise use some fan to cooling the ballasts.
At any cases you may have a problem with this big cables between lamp housings and ballasts.
For me this sounds like contact problem, but who knows. You have to check everything and there is no guarantee that will see something.
3. Change the position of the two big blue connectors. What happening?
It is good idea to start from the model of the printer. All machines are similar but not exactly same.
A lot of question. From time to time the lamp problems are very annoying for fixing. But start from the type of the Arizona.

First, it would helpful to know the model number of your printer
Second, to eliminate UV lamp as the cause, simply swap UV lamps -- put left lamp in right assembly. See if the problems follows. If it does not then you can rule out the UV bulbs.
Third: making assumption these are standard arc lamps -- most Oce power supplies are electronic, no user service
Forth, do both UV lamps light and one lamp drops out (arc extinguish) after a few minutes of operation?
Have any issues with incoming machine voltage?
Based on your answers you can look at interlock, poor connector contact or power supply issue.

Damn, so much good info here, thanks. Going to go through all of this starting with switching the whole lamp units. The model is 2280 XT

Did you solve this? I have the same problem on my Fujifilm Acuity HS (OCE 550)

Describe the problem please. The lamp system is different in 550.
Thanks! Print fails due to UV Lamp system error and a the lamp unit (error follows Lamp unit when swapped. Tested shutters and everything appears in good condition, bulbs swapped for good measure. The country tech has said this issue has been a long battle for previous owner but does not know the cause.

because the problem is not inthe lamp. Check the fans of lamp power supply(balast's).

If ypu are lucky man the balast will work. Just right ballast fan doesnt work.
Cross the ballst cables and check fans for now.

If this is GT or GL the ballast's are under table in right leg.
If this is 350, 360 XT the two ballasts with two control boards are near to power cables 220V under first cover. The ballasts are other side of the big cables with same blue connectors. Cross cables at ballasts also and write what happens.

So ...
If you change the possition of the lamps and right lamp still doesnt work this mean that the problem is not in it.
Just find the ballasts for now.

ok sir... will try it...

Find Fireware cable and just baypass this in IGUS chain. It is easy. And check the ballasts fans.
If lamps starts and during the print stop, check ballast fans and the big cable with blue connectors.
