Orajet 3651Intermediate Calendared - Ok W/Rapid Tac

Hi!
Question: Have a large 60” Diameter backlit install which we’re using Orajet 3651 (not 3651RA). It’s been a challenge eliminating bubbles on this large install - having to reprint.

Any issues / concerns with using Rapid Tac with this media?

I typically stick with dry installs but I feel like with this material, and this size print, it might be best to install wet.

Would welcome thoughts

Thank you!!

Use RapidTac lightly. Test it with a smaller piece on the surface you'll be applying to. If it gets too wet, it's best to make sure all bubbles are out and either let dry time or use a heat gun to speed the adhesion process. You using 210 or 290 as overlaminate?

The problem using that way is that you cant put a lot of pigment on the substrate and i doubt colours are good (specially darker ones). Anyway, i would never put that over acrylic without water and a little soap

I worked with a company that printed a lot for backlit signage. Their shoe-in was 3651G Transparent with 210G overlaminate. This combo works great, but you have to "doublestrike" or lay a thick amount of ink down (so the reds don't look pink when the sign is lit, for example. Only problem, any time after 5 years, the overlaminate browns out and starts cracking. You will then have to use Oracal 3850 backlit printable to cover the brown burnt marks on the substrate.

Yep... I know 210 very good and their datasheet is just fake (like most orathings we have tried over 30 years). In Spain doesnt last more than 2 years before autodestroying. There are much better arlon laminates for a little more that dont get burn and never crack. But for backlights, nothing like a good backlight. And of course multilayering ink is compulsory
