Printing uv guard with edge

Sorry for so many questions but learning older technology seems backwards but it's all I have at the moment.

When printing the abrasion guard where is it in the menu to choose it. I am using flexi but it may use the same process in composer. Ha I thought I would just draw a box that fits entirely over my print area and just put the uv guard in and let it run over the graphics but I got to thinking it may have a higher heat setting.

Thanks so much in advance!!

In Gerber Plot window you select Print Options then "backing/finish". This allows you to choose abrasion guard and how you want it applied (Print Shapes, Print Area, Job Area and apply to clear/strokes).
By the way abrasion guard is not UV. We use frog juice, it pops the colors nicely.

Thanks billct....I'll check around flexi to see what I can find! Also thanks for the correction and I will get hold of the frog juice!

You might also want to try Duracoat UV/Abrasion Guard (also private label as Apex from Advantage Sign Supply). We started using it about six years ago and it works very well. Here in Florida we found it adds about 18 to 24 months to the life of any Edge printed image.

Thanks Fred, that is exactly what I am using...good to know I'm on the right track with materials....ashamed to say I've been doing signs for 30 years and just now learning the edge...we had one when they first came out but did not use very much and hated the print quality and didn't want to take time to really learn it so we sold it...now I wonder what we were thinking!
