Problem with old GCC GRC 132S vinyl cutter

Hi there, I don't post very often. It only seems to be when i have a problem.
I have a GCC GRC 132S vinyl cutter that I seldom use. Our main cutter is 600mm wide.
When I try to start my GRC 132S I load the media but the cutter blade will not return to the start point.
Carriage slams into the fan end and will not return to the start point.
Message says to check Y motor. Not sure about this. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for anyone who looked at this post. I managed to find a manual for this machine on the net.
The cutter didn't come with a manual when purchased 2nd hand.
The manual had instructions for testing various components.
I isolated the problem to the width sensors.
One of the sensors was missing and one was bent out of line.
Once straightened the machine began to perform properly.
I will try to get another sensor to make the machine complete again.
