Need Help Profiling with an i1pro and versa works 5.5, setting needed to get the profile right.

So I have a Roland XC-540 cmyklmlc and we got an i1 to help resolve some issues we were having. Initially got the i1 and did a profile, not really know what I was doing. Turned out pretty good as far as I could see. The issues we were having were gone and everything looked pretty good. Since then I have been researching on how to make better use of this expensive piece of equipment and I thought I would run another profile and see if I got the same results or it get better or just so I could get more use to using it. Well I ran another profile and it was totally different from what I got the first time. Thought I did it the same but it had been awhile. Long story short I have tried running a profile a few different times and they are never the same. Not like a tiny bit off, like very different and im not sure what im doing wrong. Also I found you can scan a color and then enter l a b values to match a color. I have tried this and the color are not close. Does anyone have any experience with using i1profile and kind of the work through of it with versa works 5.5. Versaworks doesn't support the i1pro inside their software because it is so old.

I feel like im using it right but always getting different results. I was hear people using it to get consistent color between multiple printer but I can even do that with one printer.

if i ventured a guess, you did it the first time during the DEMO period when you didn't need a special license. you were probably able to be fully functional in the proper mode (cmyk?)

flexi supports the I1's natively. i believe versaworks does not. that is why we use flexi for everything.

We bought the i1profile for cmyk from the start, so we had full access from the beginning. I’m going to imagine I’m just not using it properly even though I’m going by all the videos they have on it. Doesn’t explain though why each profile I make is that much different from each other.
