You just said about $15 brokerage fee, then ups doesnt charge a brokerage fee.... I do a lot of international shipments - UPS charges $15-25 brokerage fee, and then duties / tariffs, as well as import taxes, etc. I'm assuming he's using chinese filament, since 90% of filament comes from china.
So $8 for the part... 50% tarrif + import taxes, + whatever the normal duties is since deminis is gone... $25-50 for the brokerage fee...it all depends on which country and what they are exporting, I know Canada is generally $25-30 depending on how many items, not sure on germany - plus all the other misc shitty fees.
Right now a lot of items are getting charged at the max tariff rate...Whether its supposed to or not, and the charges go to the receiver (Americans). We just shipped $750 worth of product to USA, And our customer got a $350 charge from Customs/UPS - It took us an hour on the phone to get it resolved because Canada isnt subject to Tariffs under USMCA items (So 90% of items).
$750 shipment, currently a 35% tariff on non eligible items... Yet customs tried to charge our customer $360 USD. UPS had to submit a complaint, get the charge removed, then once us customs finally removed it they had to get their accounting to remove the charge... This was just last week.
And I'm sure germany isnt crying over missing an $8 sale... USA is huge, but if you guys want to cut yourselves out of the global market... Then so be it.
But again...you're good at getting people to engage, I'll just leave it at this. I just found it funny you're a tarrifboy (By the way, it's spelled Tariff, not Tarrif) and then complain about having to pay huge import fees for a product... The seller doesnt set the shipping fees, its shipped through ETSY and they set the fees based on duties. I'd say it sucks for USA citizens, not germany, but to each their own.
