Roland GX-300 Bad USB connector

Our tech guy says there is an energy error and the USB connector, part of the motherboard, is damaged. Our FlexiSign won't recognize the port. Anyone have a used GX-300 motherboard - or a work around? Computer doesn't have a serial port and cutter doesn't have or ethernet port.

not sure what an energy error is, but i know a bad usb port when i see one
(kind of like what potter stewart said about pornography)

you could see if inkjet performance has one (732 330 4275) inkjetperformance.com
they also offer board repair & we have made out pretty well with them (no one scores 100%)
it would obviously be either a bad usb connector or the usb chip needing to be changed. (easy for me to say)

it is probably a good time to remind you, if you had a humidifier and kept the humidity up, that port would probably still be good
(i lecture everyone at this time of year, when heating season is starting) much cheaper than killing circuit boards

Lol, yeah, we bought it used and it has been problematic since we got it. I will see how much it is to repair the connector but only to resell it. Otherwise it's headed to the landfill. We've certainly got our money out of it - looking at buying a new - Summa.

Go to a mobile repair shop to replace ir, but first check it in other computer or use "usbdeview" by nirnsoft (free) to uninstall the drivers first (remove cable first)

right on target
i would have suggested a "tv repair shop" but that is like sending him to a blacksmith, they don't shoe horses anymore

usboblivion is probably the best utility to wipe all the usb data (you will have to r edetect your kbd and mouse as well) but it is the beginning of heating season
