Roland print issue

We have an SP540v. Normally this happens every morning, and eventually goes away, but now it seems to be more constant. WE have cleaned the encoder strip, and it has been replace recently..
Any ideas as to what could be wrong?
Thanks,

And know we've noticed that does it mainly when we print anything high speed, ie banners, or the crop marks for cutting.

Anyone?

Is your carriage lose? Slipping belt?

Encoder sensor could be going. I would have said strip, but you replaced that. Have you checked your encoder via service mode? If you are still getting an error after a new encoder strip, I would suggest the sensor.

The carriages SEEM fine...but we have had a couple instances where they become disconnected. And, we haven't checked it via service mode.
