Roland TruVis VG2-540 magenta head off?

I was gone over the weekend and my vg2-540 ran out of the cleaning cartridge, now my magenta head seems to be off, would that have caused that? What do I need to do to fix it?

Do your bidirectional alignment in the user menu. Strangely, Roland is now calling it Media Gap Adjustment. WTF? Do the detail setting one.

I have had several printers were the cleaning cartridge has run out and therefore causing the wiper not to be wet which has caused head issues. Really need to see the nozzle test print and of course the service level nozzle test print which would really show the issue if you have them with a head.
please follow Jim‘s advice or just print in unidirectional and see if the problem goes away. If the problem goes away when printing in unidirectional, then you know you need to form the M gap adjustment.

That is actually a Nozzle Mask test but it looks ok.
The regular Nozzle Test would be nice to see.
Did printing in unidirectional solve the issue?
I am new to the VG2, just got it in March, how do I perform that verses the mask test? I tried to google it but ended up with same thing. I have been gone to another 3 day ministry retreat, so I have not tried anything else yet. not even sure hot to do the unidirectional on this machine.

I see your issue now. If you look at the orange, you will see that the second pass shifts off to the left. Appears you must’ve had a head strike and now the head as physically out of alignment. I have circled it in the picture, please verify on the test print that you made. It is hard to see in the picture.
I would imagine if you print anything with orange or red you’ll see the issue. Also, anything with light black. try a 10% or 20% gray box in “density control only“ in the color management setting and see what happens.

Not as noticeable in this…what do I need to do to align the head? Would it be best to have a tech do it? I used to work on my Mimaki jv3 all the time, but this printer seems far more advanced!

You appear to have a color to color misalignment, which is a service menu function. You may be locked out of service mode, but give this a try anyway. When Roland went to TR2 inks, there was a firmware update that allowed only Roland certified techs onsite with their laptop hooked to the printer access to service mode. I've heard of some users still being able to get into service mode, so it's worth a shot. Otherwise, it'll require a Roland tech.
