Roland VS-300 keeps shutting down

Well, My VS-300 has been running great. A few days ago though it started shutting down again on its own. Sometimes the blue light on the power button is solid, sometimes dark. I don't think its an overheating problem. Any other thoughts on what it could possibly be?

It sounds like the main power supply is failing. I have replacements in stock if you need one

It could be the main power supply too.
It is most likely the panel, the buttons that you push. Undo it and make sure all the buttons are free and working properly.

I agree it could be the control panel, but when the power light is dark it often points to a power supply problem

You can try the easiest things first ,unplug and reconnect the cables, and maybe try a different power outlet. But honestly, the main power supply is still the most likely iss

I am seeing more of these fail now due to the age of the machines. If you have a decent electronics repair place near you they would be able to test the supply

I don't. Today the light was on solid but the machine showed offline. I was able to restart with the switch in the back. When it is dark on the button I have to unplug and replug it

If you want to try replacing the power supply I have tested OEM ones in stock. That would be my first step to see if that fixes it

The saga continues. Power Supply, Main Board, Switch (which was verified bad) and the machine worked but the slightest bump and it turned off. Hmm. We I was able to get it up and running and printing but it wouldn't stay on and eventually wouldn't turn on. I replaced the plug and the power cord. Tried a different socket to plug it into.
One last diagnosis is coming up before I give up.

If it is turning off when being bumped that would point to a bad connection on a cable so that is worth checking too

That is why we changed the plug and cord as they were both original. When the service tech comes back our I will have him check all of that. Right now we are not even getting power. No lights or anything with the switch on.

If I can't get it working then I won't replace it. I have a cutter now and will use it for whatever comes up for cut work and just source any printed work.
