rush retractable = reprint super rush

yup, as much as I love digital printing I also deplore it. I feel so out of control over what happens to finished work.

So I get a call yesterday from a very good customer and they need a rush retractable for their client today by days end to be shipped. I agreed but knew this is not good. The banner is basically one complete spot colour of a 300 blue. I set it up and print on a super smooth block out which works well in retractables. leave it overnight until 15 minutes ago and I unroll to cut up and put it into the retractable unit. Halfway through unrolling this white line appears on one side and runs the rest of the way through the banner.

Theres no way that could have happened during the print process as I was there and watched and there was no white line running through. Now I cant figure out how it got there. It's like someone came in last night, unrolled the banner and purposely did it, which is impossible.
The back of the banner has no blue ink on it so it did not come off from being rolled up. It is a mystery as I have a mental fit to get one printed fast and load it in for a delivery by 4.

Just another day in hell!!!

the thing I LOVE about printing that same banner material is just how quickly it dries....print it out again...and set a fan blowing on it...ship it out first thing in the morning...chances are, they really only need it the day after they want it. :) Good luck!

It was that bird you left in over the week end! I think you need to go golfing!

That efin bird!!! I came in saturday to pick up some tools to do work at home and again opened the door fully and there he was way up high and would not fly down, so I left a bowl of water out and some bread crusts to get him through the weekend. Get a call Saturday night...my alarm has gone off and the police have been dispatched. I told them , let me guess...rear motion? yup. I told them to ignore the zone until Tuesday (long weekend up here). So I come in Tuesday morning and cant find Tweety anywhere. I figure he's dead and I will find him by the stink within a few days. What I did find was a fine coating of dust on everything on the shop floor as Tweety walked across the beams at the ceiling and knocked off 20 years of dust and sawdust and who knows what. What a mess!!!

So maybe the bird did it to my banner last night as a get back!!! lol

oh great the second print is finished, I just can't wait to unroll it and see what the sign Gods have planned!!

There is some dodgy Decalite around in Ontario. Don't know about a vertical line though.
Have any hair falling out?
