S80600 Media Load Error

Hello,

We recently received a media load error. We tried to correct this, but the error is just coming back. Has anyone else ever encountered this error? Thanks!

Yes, I have in the past. Out of desparation I loaded in a roll of reversed wound banner material and it work. I then unloaded it and reloaded the machine with wrap material and knock on wood I have not had that issue again.

Getting this same msg on our S80600 repeatedly. Is there a simple fix on this? It seems the media load handle has lost resistance or spring.

Turn off the sensor and you can print. I plan on buying a new sensor and seeing if that works.

Was it a simple fix? We’re encountering the same issue this morning.

One simple fix - if the media is loading too far too the right - into the printer.
Standing in back of the printer - check that loaded media’s left edge is positioned somewhere in the dark band - between arrows. (you can see this just below the white ruler).

I bought a new sensor (Well of ebay as no one was selling one near me and it didn't work). I'm now not sure if it's the sensor, board or ribbons. Not a massive job to replace but it's a pain. Anyone got this fixed?

We had this same problem and after hours of panicking it turned out someone had moved the left hand side media locator thing rather than the right hand side one.
