s80600 new firmware has not silenced loud fan.

I downloaded the SA011MBA firmware update from the US website and it didn't stop the fan. I followed the link from cmoist to the Japan website and download the firmware SA023N9 and IT WORKED!!!!

I remembered reading this thread and decided to finally do something about the loud fan on our S80600. The WeTransfer link above is expired.

Here is a link to the SA023N9 on the Epson Japan website, though it says it's for the s80650, it worked fine for me to stop the fan.

The US Epson site only lists SA011MBa, and it's unclear if it addresses the fan issue.

you should NEVER load firmware that is not exactly right for your machine

if you do, the DAY BEFORE garbge pickup would be your best bet

I'm sure someone would have reported any major issues after installing the firmware. On top of that it worked and solved the issue I was having, so I think all is good. lol
