One of the older printer models I sold was left sitting idle for over a year, and the owner asked me to bring it back to life. I replaced pretty much everything that could be replaced—from the ink lines and ink tanks all the way to the printhead.
After finishing the job feeling good about it, I installed Flexi RIP on the customer's PC and even ran a successful test print. However, a Windows Update prompt kept popping up on the side. Finding it annoying, I went ahead and ran the update.
Right after that, Flexi RIP completely stopped opening. No matter how many times I uninstalled and reinstalled it, the issue wouldn't go away.
Just in case, I installed the software on my own laptop, plugged in the USB dongle, and it worked flawlessly.
At that point, I genuinely agonized over whether I should just leave my laptop with them or keep trying to find a way to make it work on their PC.
For context, I'm Korean, but no matter how much I searched in Korean, I couldn't find a single post about this issue. I had no choice but to search on Google in English, and fortunately, I found someone who had experienced the exact same issue along with a solution.
