SC540 Head Board F3 Blown

Hi
My SC540 has blown the F3 Fuse on the Head Board. While the fuse is blown the machine powers up and does a test print with no Magenta or Yellow. So I bridged the fuse with some fine copper wire and the machine wont power up it starts too then it shuts down. So I took the wire bridge away and powers up.
I have tried to power up with fuse bridged and no ribbon cables connected but still no startup
Any ideas??

I have some spare fuses on order but will take over a week to get here.

OMG!!!

If a fuse blows it normally specifies a fault on the circuit.
The fuse is their to protect other parts of the circuit.

This sounds like your head board or cables has a fault.
I would be replacing these items first BEFORE fitting a new fuse.

DIY Printer Fixing Guide
Never "bridge" a fuse with anything other than another fuse!

Don't do anything until the new fuse is in. Be prepared for a fried head and/or transistor on the main board.

+1 On checking all of the cables and connections for shorts in the system. The fuse blew for a reason.
